TLDR Classic

TLDR Classic terms

Last updated: 30 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Sonal Systems Private Limited ("we", "us") for the TLDR Classic app on iPhone and Android. By using the app you accept them. The privacy policy (https://tldrmoney.in/classic/privacy) says what we collect and why, and is part of these terms.

The app

TLDR Classic is a money journal. You write what you spend, and the app works out the totals. Writing it down stays free.

You sign in with Apple or Google, and what's written under your account is yours to look after. TLDR Classic isn't meant for children under 13, or under the age your country sets for agreeing to an app like this yourself where that's higher (18 in India).

Pro

  • What Pro adds. Pro adds features on top of the free app. The paywall in the app lists what Pro adds on your phone. Free keeps writing things down with no limit, always.
  • The free month. A new account gets Pro free for its first 30 days, with no card and nothing to cancel. It then returns to Free on its own. Nothing is deleted.
  • Buying Pro. Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription, bought through the App Store or Google Play, which take the payment. The price is the one the store shows before you buy. Buying during the free month ends the free month and starts billing that day.
  • Renewing and cancelling. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. Cancel any time, at least a day before it renews: on iPhone in Settings, under your name, Subscriptions; on Android in Google Play, under Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions. Pro then lasts until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds. The store that took the payment handles refunds, under its own rules (Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; Google Play in its order history). We can't refund a store purchase ourselves.
  • Price changes. The store tells you before a new price applies, under its rules.
  • Sharing Pro. A Pro subscriber can invite one partner to a shared ledger ("Ours"), and Pro covers the partner while the subscriber's Pro lasts. When it ends, each of you goes back to your own plan, Ours can be read but not changed until Pro is back, and nothing is deleted.
  • When Pro ends. You keep everything. Older months are hidden until Pro is back, and the raw data download in Settings always includes all of it.

AI features

  • AI features are off until you allow them, and you can turn them off in Settings at any time. The privacy policy says exactly what they send and where.
  • AI only reads text into entries and questions. Our own code works out every total and every answer. Check an entry the AI read before you rely on it.
  • Even on Pro, AI features have a daily fair-use limit, so they stay available for everyone.

Not advice

TLDR Classic describes what you've spent. It doesn't give financial, tax or investment advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation. For anything important, check the figures against your bank or card statements.

Your entries

Your entries are yours. We use them only to run the app for you, as the privacy policy says. You can download all of them, and delete your account, in Settings at any time. In a shared ledger your partner sees and can change what's written there, and you can leave it whenever you like.

Fair use

Don't use the app to break the law, try to reach anyone else's data, disrupt the service or overload its AI features, copy or resell the app, or take it apart except where the law allows. If an account does, we may suspend or close it, and we'll tell you why where we can.

The app's licence

We give you a personal licence to use TLDR Classic on devices you own or control. It can't be transferred. On iPhone, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) is the app's licence, and these terms add to it; where the two differ about the licence, Apple's applies. On Android, Google Play's terms of service also apply to the download.

The service

We work to keep the app and its sync running, but we can't promise it never stops. Entries you write stay on your phone and sync when the service is back. We may change or remove features. If we ever close TLDR Classic, the app will say so well ahead of time, and you'll be able to download all your data first.

The app is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits a liability the law doesn't allow us to limit, or takes away your rights as a consumer where you live.

Ending

You can stop using TLDR Classic and delete your account in Settings at any time.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, the app will say so before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version; earlier versions are available on request.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Vadodara, India, decide any dispute, without taking away the protection the laws of the place you live give you as a consumer.
